Floyd Rose® Type Locking Nut with Hardware in Chrome .. NEW Pro Part All New, All Good .. 42.5mm in width or 1.67" .. the unit includes all hardware shown .. the plate is designed to act as a shim if needed, but more importantly, a base so the height adjustment screws don't drill into a wood headstock, if you don't need to adjust for height, you may not need the metal shim plate  .. you get the locking nut, the screws and the Allen wrenches .. If you want to tweak out some added ring and sustain, add a locking nut. It's metal, so open strings will ring more .. To stop the strings from slipping, a locking nut will help.

It's also a myth that you need a FR tremelo system to use a locking nut .. but do be aware that this type nut requires some woodwork unless you are replacing one of the same size and type ....

Can it be used on an acoustic.. yes, as long as the size of your old one matches this one
