DeArmond reissue NICKEL neck mounting rod for Rhythm Chief 1000 pickup

You're looking at a reissue Dearmond neck mounting rod for Rhythm Chief 1000 pickups in nickel. The rod is 5 inches overall and comes with two small screws. The rod diameter is approximately 1/8". With calipers I measured .128" or 3.25mm. Auction is for one mounting rod and two screws only. The picture of the Dearmond 1000 is for reference only.

These may also fit some vintage "monkey on a stick" Rhythm Chief 1000 or Super Rhythm Chief 1100 pickups as well. I have not personally checked for fit with a vintage example but I recently had a customer state that his vintage Dearmonds did not fit well- that the pickup was too loose on the rod and that the vintage rods measured closer to .130". That was the first time I had heard of that in spite of having sold dozens of the reissue rods. Maybe the reissue rods can be made to work. I don't know, but there's your caveat- There really isn't much of an alternative so maybe a slightly loose rod is better than nothing!

A word of caution: In some cases the rod may need to be bent slightly for optimum pickup placement. The bend should be made in a padded vise with care taken not to flex the metal at the screw hole. The rod is weakest at that area and if bent there, can break apart. As long as bends are made to other areas and kept to a minimum, you should be fine.
