Up for sale, a 1996 Heritage H-150 Deluxe in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. A direct descendant of Gibson, Heritage guitars are still handcrafted under the guidance of original Gibson employees at the Kalamazoo, Michigan factory. After Gibson left their original factory in 1984, their employees purchased it and have continued the legacy and pioneering spirit that defined Gibson's golden age. This H-150 Deluxe is essentially an upscale Les Paul Standard, featuring a carved, bookmatched flame top with a gloss nitro lacquer Almond Sunburst finish, capping a solid mahogany body and one-piece neck. The upscale iteration of the H-150 platform, the Deluxe model features headstock binding and the finest figured tonewoods Heritage had to offer.
The guitar is loaded with a pair of vintage Seymour Duncan humbuckers, with a high gain JB humbucker in the bridge position and a Jazz at the neck (one of the most popular Duncan humbucker pairings). The JB delivers powerful low end, crisp and detailed treble, and an upper-midrange bump that adds crunch and chunk to heavy chords but translates to a singing, vocal-like quality when you play single notes or solos. The Jazz neck pickup has a warm, sweet tone that is smooth and full, with tons of natural sustain. The highs are particularly thick, while the lows are warm and buttery, with an overall response that is very sensitive to pick attack. The JB humbucker was wound by Duncan pickup winding legend (and custom shop head) Maricela Juarez, and the Jazz was wound by Leticia Quintero.
This Heritage weighs 9lbs 15oz, delivering plenty of heft, punch, and classic Les Paul sustain. If you're looking for an expertly crafted, USA-made guitar made in small quantities and capable of delivering everything you love from a great Gibson, look no further than this Heritage H-150 Deluxe. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, we've dialed in the guitar with fresh 10-46 strings and low action, and spot-on intonation.
The mahogany neck has a slender and fast-feeling C shape at the nut with minimal taper and increase in heft up the fretboard, effortlessly navigable and measuring .770" deep at the 1st fret, graduating to .899" at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard features flared trapezoid inlay and the original medium jumbo frets. The frets are virtually flawless, and the guitar plays easily up the straight neck with a responsive truss rod. The scale length is 24 3/4”, and the nut is a hand-carved piece of bone measuring 1 11/16" in width, providing optimal note clarity and sustain. The headstock boasts a bound matching flame maple veneer and stock chrome Grover Rotomatic tuning machines which turn smoothly and hold pitch very well.
All of the electronics work as they should, with individual Volume and Tone controls for each pickup, wired to a three-way pickup selector toggle. The original CTS pots are intact, dating back to 1994, and on the inside of the control cavity cover, the original H-150 DLX ALM SB model/finish sticker is present. The original Schaller-made roller bridge and stoptail are intact, and the original bound flame maple pickguard compliments the top burst. The Almond Sunburst gloss nitro lacquer finish is akin to a saturated Ice Tea burst, and cosmetic wear is limited to only isolated faint scuffs and scratches in the clear coat. The neck profile retains its smooth gloss finish and is pristine save for a single tiny scuff in the finish behind fret 4.
The original Heritage hardshell case and warranty card is included.
