Jack Bruce Cream The Fool Fender Bass VI Recreation
Hailing back to the Summer Of Love, presented here is a recreation of Jack Bruce’s iconic Fender Bass VI as painted by the art collective, The Fool, as first seen in 1967. For many years, the original bass was lost, to later resurface in the mid 90s. It was most recently on display at The Met with its companion instrument, Eric Clapton’s psychedelic Gibson SG.
Created on a 50th Anniversary 1996 Fender MIJ Bass VI, this instrument has been hand-painted in incredible detail and unparalleled accuracy to resemble how this instrument looks today, EXCEPT for the lack of “aging” in the original paint, and the addition of a professional polyurethane mirror finish; none of that “wiped on” finishes typically done by artists. You simply will not find a more-accurate recreation with a better finish. Compare our model with the original instrument in the photos provided.
Features three on/off flick switches for the pickups, a 4th flick for high-pass filter, master volume and master tone. The tremelo system is astonishingly stable; a much better design than the Stratocaster design. The bass comes with its tremolo arm. Sounds just as cool as the early Cream recordings, and also the tones recorded by The Beatles on Abbey Road and Let It Be when George Harrison or John Lennon played bass parts.
This is the second Fool Bass VI produced by Famous Guitar Replicas and has been in my personal inventory, used only in a smoke-free studio. Since its original refin, the bass itself likely hasn’t seen over 20 total hours playing time since acquired in 2008. The bass itself is in excellent condition, having recently been updated and refinished, but is being sold in “used” condition. There’s some age on the frets but the action is low, straight and no dead spots.
Comes with its original black hardshell case. Shipping/insurance is $90.
All sales final. No returns offered unless damaged in shipping so please ask all questions before purchase.
Since 2006, Famous Guitar Replicas has been recreating classic and iconic guitars from the 60's and 70's. Come see more about us on Facebook.
