Beautiful Washburn J6 1980's Vintage Sunburst - Hollowbody with HSC

Here is a an original Washburn J6. Appears to be from the 1980's and appears to be made in Japan to the best research I can find. Excellent Jazz guitar. It’s in great condition for its age, and comes with the original case that was purchased by the original owner. Very little signs of use.

This guitar has spent most of its life in the case but does have some mild fretwear and some oxidization to the bridge and the tuning keys.

The Washburn J6 is an example of construction quality and standards harking back to the pre-amplification era. Modern electronics have been fitted in an arched spruce top instrument, with flamed sycamore back and sides, for a nice, well-captured electric representation of the warmth and reinforced high end ideal for jazz players but equally suited for many other applications. This is a very versatile instrument.

The bound rosewood fingerboard, with its 'split block' inlays, looks and feels divine, while gold Grover machine heads and a Washburn branded 'Reso-Tone' tailpiece provide stable tuning. The paired Washburn humbuckers have a clear, unhindered tone at low volumes with a nice, satisfyingly sparkly 'twang' at higher volumes.

Judging by the serial number 8135 it would appear this instrument was crafted in either mid to later 1980's (Washburn changed their serial number formats regularly, just to keep us on our toes...). The 4 digit serial number would indicate Japanese construction.

This is a pre-owned instrument but is in full working order. It shows its use in the tarnishing of its hardware, but the tone of this instrument still shines, with a nice, rounded quality with a satisfying high-end. Included in the price is a hardshell case.
