Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Burst Brothers B9 - R9 2010

2010 Gibson Custom Shop Burst Brothers Les Paul B9 - R9. These are said to be as close to the real thing as you can get without spending the big bucks. Commissioned by the Burst Brothers- thought by many to be THE authority on Gibson Bursts. If you’re looking for a reissue that really hits the mark this Gibson Burst Brothers B9 may be just what you’re looking for!

Several special appointments were made to the run including tops hand selected by the brothers for accuracy not flash, extra light bodies for comfort and resonance, a slightly thinner neck than the typical 59, though still with plenty of meat, modeled after a real 59 burst they brought in, a vintage inspired new color dubbed Honey Teaburst, darker tinted backs, special under wound Custom Buckers, vintage correct wiring and a very nice VOS finish to round off the vintage vibe. The goal was to make it so they couldn’t tell the difference between the real burst and the B9 and they were very proud of the results, playing it you’ll realize why!

Condition wise this one is really clean though no case queen. Looking at it straight on you’d swear there is not a mark on it but at an angle under direct light, slight finish marks can be seen on the back and headstock. The top is actually very clean! There are a few very small dings on the back (all pictured). Overall nothing major and really you could just say it’s aging very nicely!

Everything appears original except perhaps the the caps which look like they were switched for some NOS. These did have special wiring so it’s possible they’re original. One pickup is 2 wire the other is 4 wire but speaking with Drew Berlin apparently the secret sauce to these was to use the pickups set for the Jimmy Page #2 guitars, go in and take a few windings off. 🤘🏼😎 No wonder they sound so good!

The only other issue is that the high e saddle has a bur in the string slot that chokes the string a bit. The previous owner etched a spot to the left a hair that it sounds and plays fine in. I was told about this and thought I’d just replace the saddle and keep the original in the case but after playing it as mentioned, I realized it was such a non issue I didn’t even bother.

This is a phenomenal looking, sounding and playing guitar in every way, I just like to be upfront about everything. If you want mint, this isn’t it but it is in great condition! Comes with original hard shell case, certificate of authenticity and all tags and case candy.
