For sale is this vintage 1956 Premier Model 76 electric guitar
amplifier. This example, serial number 7447, is one of two currently
being offered on Reverb. Both of which are very nice and in overall very
good original condition. This example is the slightly lesser of the two, in my
opinion, only because one portion of the cabinet is showing a seam separation. This amp has the original leather handle and even the original hangtag.
The original Jensen Concert Series (P12Q) still sounds really good. The 3 " instrument" inputs are more aggressive than the 1 "mic" input. The tone is well rounded until you push it, then it breaks up very nicely, at saturation it sounds very similar to a Tweed Deluxe.
The Premier Catalog describes the 76 as "The Amp with "Plus Features" Dual Case construction to meet the present-day demands of band and studio work where controls must be available to a director while speaker maintains a definite position facing audience or within performing group".
- dual case construction... provides separate baffle for speaker while controls close to user
- organ-like tremolo...variable is speed and intensity
- 12" extra heavy speaker...4 inputs...8 tubes
- dual independent channels
- undistorted average power output of 24 watts
