Hopf Telstar International – 1963 German Vintage Electric Guitar / Gitarre

This is the "International" edition of the "Telstar" model by the german luthier "Hopf". Hopf was one of the biggest luthiers in germany during the golden age of german guitars from the 50s to the 80s. They are known for their creative and unusual electric guitar designs and their very good and long lasting craftsmanship. The "Telstar" Model was named "Telstar" to pay tribute to the famous NASA saltelite "Telstar" wich was launched in 1962. The guitar was produced between 1963 and 1966. The Telstar came in two variants: The "Standard" and the "International" edition. The International edition always had a golden hardware and 3 pickups and is way more rare than the "Standard" edition. There are some other differences, like the higher quality wood they used on it.

The guitar has a green finish with gold hardware. The fretboard is Ebony and the body is made out of solid mahagony.

The guitar has some wear and some scratches as you can see in the pictures. There are some scratches on the laquer, but nothing is broken or anything like that. One of the tuners has been replaced. The electronic is fully functioning, all 3 pickups have a nice and clear output and all the knobs and switches do exatly what they should. The tuners work, arent' dried up and hold the string tension nicely. The neck is deadstraight and the action nice and low, this makes the guitar really comfortable to play. The fretboard got oiled recently and the frets got polished. The strings are new too.

The guitar comes with its original tremolo. Its just not mounted at the moment.

The guitar can be played immediatly.
