The MojoAxe CTT compensated trapeze tailpiece is a conversion bridge that replaces the original bottom-wrap trapeze bar of the 1952-1953 Gibson Les Paul Goldtops with a top-wrap bridge for greatly improved playability. The bridge features an offset saddle ridge that has been careful designed to allow for near-perfect intonation compensation with 3-wound/3-plain string sets.

Please note that this listing is for the CTT bridge itself. The trapeze rods ARE NOT included with this item.

This tailpiece was designed with the 1952-1953 Goldtop Les Paul in mind, however it is also compatible with ES-225 and ES-295 models.  When the MojoAxe tailpiece is installed onto these models, the original pedestals and thumbwheels are re-used for height adjustment rather than the CTT's low-profile height adjustment screw.

When Les Paul collaborated with Gibson on the design of the original 1952 Goldtop, he requested a top-wrap bridge, however Gibson "screwed up" (Les Paul's words) wrapping the strings underneath the bridge, thus rendering the guitar almost unplayable. The MojoAxe CTT bridge allows for conversion to a much more playable top-wrap setup with making any permanent modifications that would have a negative impact on the value of the guitar.

The CTT bridge assembles to the original stock trapeze rods. Please note that because the trapeze rods will sit closer to the body with this bridge installed, it may be necessary to slightly straighten the bend in the original rods so that the bridge rests parallel with the top of the guitar. If you prefer not to bend the original rods, then see my other listing for the CTT bridge which includes a replica of the 1952 trapeze rods. This item allows you to remove the entire original bridge assembly and replace it with the MojoAxe bridge assembly. The original assembly can then be tucked away in a safe place.

The tailpiece is adjustable in height and features a low-profile design that allows for low action adjustment even on guitars which have a shallow neck angles.

The MojoAxe CTT bridge is precision machined from high strength aircraft-grade 7075 tempered aluminum. The machined part is then hand-polished and plated with a nickel finish. The nickel finish has been tastefully aged with a patina that will look right at home on a 60+ year old Les Paul.
