This Chicago badge Slingerland Student Model 5.5x14 snare is stamped 1960 on the inside, and is composed of a 3 ply mahogany/poplar/mahogany shell. The duco finish has a fair amount of checking but is in good shape overall, with a minor nick or two here and there. The chrome is in great shape, with only some minor pitting on a few of the claws. The throw is not original and does not function very well. It will need a replacement. The original Slingerland snare wires and resonant head are included. This drum has surprising sensitivity and warmth, and sounds outstanding.
