Cosmetic Condition:  Exceptionally rare & ultra cool acoustic bass made by Ernie Ball in Costa Mesa, CA.  Ernie Ball pioneered some the earliest large body acoustic basses at the start of the '70s  with production numbers being relatively low.  We've had about a half dozen of these beauties over the years & they don't stick around for very long.  Cosmetically this one's a bit rougher than some of the others we've had in the past.  There's about an 11 inch crack in the top, treble side that was professionally repaired before we acquired the bass.  At some point in time the bass had a pickup just below the soundhole with an input jack & volume control on the side.  Both the input jack & volume control holes have been filled and there is a decorative plaque over the rout where the pickup existed.  This was all done prior to us acquiring the bass.  Throughout the bass you'll notice various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & general play wear.  Overall it has a great look to it with a gorgeous patina.  The bass has been professionally set up our luthier & sounds fantastic, with a rich, deep tone.  Don't miss out on owning this exciting & rare gem!

Neck:  Medium profile maple neck.  Maple fingerboard with brown dot inlays.  Original frets are in great shape with no wear.  Maple headstock with Ernie Ball floral "E" emblem.  Original Grover nickel tuners are in perfect working condition.  1 9/11" nut width; 34" scale length.  Truss rod works & neck plays good up & down the fretboard.

Body:  Spruce top with walnut back sides.  Rosewood bridge with maple inlay.  18 1/2" lower bout width; 14" upper bout width; 6 1/2" depth; 25" body length; 50" overall length.  There is no pickup.

Case:  Original gig bag is included.
