1979 Ibanez MC900 Bass
Summary: The Musician series was introduced in 1979 with the MC-800 and MC-900 models, which were available in natural (NT) and "dark-stain" (DS) finishes. This particular bass was made in 1979 & it comes with the original hardshell case! This bass plays great & it has been well-loved over the past 30 years.
Body: Solid mahogany core with dark stained ash top and back on either side on the maple/walnut neck through design, double cutaway
Neck: Five piece neck with rock maple & walnut, bone/brass nut, ebony fingerboard, 34” scale length, 1 5/8” nut width, neck-through design, 22 frets, beautiful abalone dot inlays, original Ibanez tuning keys.
Pickups/Hardware: Original Ibanez Super 4 single coil soapbar pickups, “Musician” truss rod cover, 2 volume knobs, 2 tone knobs, toggle switch for the active electronics, 3-way switch, blend control, chrome hardware, fully adjustable bridge.
Cosmetics: This vintage Ibanez does have signs of wear such as pick scratching on the top & a few nicks and dings in the body but the overall beauty of the instrument overcomes any imperfections that you find.
Playability: This bass has recently been set up with a new set of light gauge bass strings & it plays great. The action is low & the fingerboard feels wonderful up & down the neck.
Weight: 9 lbs, 8 oz.
Case: This wonderful bass guitar comes with the original hardshell Ibanez case that has beautiful green interior & the original hang tags for the instrument. One of the latches on the case is broken but the case is still functioning with the other 2 latches & it fits the instrument perfectly.
