Kremona Fully Carved Solid 3/4 Bulgarian Upright bass from Gollihur
This was my main gigging upright bass for about 13 years (late 2003 until 2016 when I got a much nicer carved upright). It's been neglected in a corner since then and needs a good home. Made in Bulgaria, purchased from Bob Gollihur's website late 2003. Fully carved (top and back) solid wood, ebony fingerboard and tailpiece, Spiricore strings.
Set-up by Lisa Gass at LA bass works. She shaped the fingerboard, put in a new bridge with aluminum adjusters, airline cable to hold the tailpiece, nicer endpin than stock. It plays like a dream, Lisa does great work. It's been a workhorse. No repairs needed after Lisa's original set-up. This bass is built like a tank and unusually heavy. Some cosmetic dings that you would expect after hundreds of gigs, and some wear on the edges from setting it down between sets, but in excellent shape for 13 years of gigging. Dings and wear all visible in photos.
This is a great jazz bass, sounds very good acoustic, really comes to life amplified.
I was using a B-Band pick-up that I'm keeping. I can throw in an Underwood pick-up if you want, but you probably want to use something that will really bring out the complexity of this bass's tone.
I'm putting local pick-up only. I will ship to you if you have a good quality road case that you can send me that I can put the bass in and return to you. And you want to pay for all that. Or if you have a better plan for shipping, we can figure it out. I don't have a good road case.
