Alesis QS8 OS v1.02 EPROM Firmware Upgrade KIT / New ROM Update Chip with Service Manual

• This upgrade version 1.02 is the latest update released by Alesis for the QS8 synthesizer.
• Included will be 1 new EPROM chip to complete the upgrade.

The EPROM upgrade chip included in thislisting is directly sourced from Alesis during my tenure as a repairtechnician. They are not copies, which are programmed on to so-called“new” EPROM chips of questionable nature.

Please note that the QS8 itself is notfor sale, only the EPROM upgrade chip is.

• Below are a list of issues resolved in the 1.02 update:
• Fixed - Mix UnCompare bug where when going out of compare in Mix mode all voices playing should be stopped, but they weren't.
• Fixed - Mix MIDI Dots bug where when leaving Edit mode by hitting the <MIX> button, no new MIDI Dots would light when a new key was pressed until all keys were first released.
• Changed Program and Mix Channel RANGE when using keyboard note presses to set the range so that the Global Keyboard Transpose is taken into account.
• Modified portamento routine so that each sound retains the last note played in that sound, and glides from the last note to the new note played. Other sounds or channels will no longer cause portamento interaction.
• Put HIMOM back in.
• Changed QS7/QS8 Software so that its aftertouch would work with both REV C and REV E boards. This change resulted in a new source file PANEL7.SRC where the black aftertouched value is forced to the value H'FFFF.
• New presets.
