Why Upgrade to Version 1.2?

• Version 1.2 is the latest firmware for the AX-60, ensuring stable operation and reliable system performance.

Changes and Improvements in Version 1.2:

• AUTO TUNE request via MIDI is recognized but is not transmitted.
• AUTO MUTE request by AUTO MUTE button is accepted up to 6 times, causing other functions to be inoperative for up to 30–35 seconds.
• When VERIFY is executed and the data recorded on tape differs from the data in AX-60 for any reason, the data in AX-60 may be re-written if the PROTECT switch is off.
• The position of the PITCH BEND setting VR is memorized when the unit is turned off; on power-up, the Pitch Bend effect may differ from its VR position.
• In SPLIT mode, the MIDI channels are set for Upper and Lower keys separately. After SPLIT mode is released, MIDI channels are not canceled, so AX-60 accepts 2 MIDI channels.

How to Check Your Current Version

• When powering on your AX-60, observe the startup display or check the label on the installed EPROM chip.
• If you see a version lower than 1.2, this upgrade is recommended to ensure full compatibility and smooth performance.

Installation Guidance

• Replace the firmware chip in its designated socket on the mainboard. No soldering is required.
• Carefully remove the original chip and insert the new one, ensuring proper notch alignment and observing all anti-static precautions.
