You're looking at a Guild S-100 Polara Prototype with Hagstrom Tremar - Factory 2nd. This is a prototype, so the specs and general shape of the guitar might differ slightly from what is currently being offered from Guild.
The condition of this Guild S-100 Polara is nearly new - This is a prototype because it was made with a Vintage Hagstrom Tremar as opposed to the standard stop tail as featured on Guild's current S-100 release. This is a 2016 model so it's been sitting around for a bit. The hardware can use a little cleaning (I cleaned a bit with a regular soflt polishing cloth and was able to shine some of the hardware pretty easily). The finish is pretty close to being flawless... perhaps only a few little nicks which were so small they were hard to photograph. Other than that, this guitar is in excellent condition. The playability of this guitar is wonderful - No issues, clean response. Comes with a Guild hardshell case, which has some scrapes but is still in great working condition. All pictures are of the actual guitar being offered.
Guild S-100 Polara Prototype with Hagstrom Tremar - Factory 2nd
Guild style from the ’70s is back and better than ever with the return of the solid-body S-100 guitar. With its solid and slightly offset mahogany body, the new S-100 Polara™ evokes its esteemed and hard-rocking predecessor of more than 40 years ago. Responsive and versatile, it also features a distinctive 24 3/4″ scale, classic dark mahogany natural finish, rock-solid mahogany neck, and a potent pair of Guild HB-1 pickups.
Based on a classic 1970s Guild solidbody
The S-100 Polara is based on the Guild S-100 guitar from the '70s. Boasting a body made of mahogany with a sleek offset design, and combined with a special pair of humbucking pickups, the S-100 Polara is primed for classic hard rock.
Rich tone from a pair of humbucking pickups
Armed with a pair of HB-1 humbucking pickups, when you plug in your Guild S-100 Polara you will be rewarded with a wide range of classic tones. As music was evolving into harder and heavier sounds, Guild released these higher-output pickups to ensure players could get the most out of their S-100. Famously used by Kim Thayil of Soundgarden, the HB1 humbucker pickups are quite capable of everything from articulate cleans to down-tuned riffing. And the S-100 Polara is sonically flexible, thanks to individual volume and tone controls for each pickup.
High-quality appointments for great performance
On top of great looks and tone, the Guild S-100 Polara sports high-quality features for years of reliable performance. Like the binding on the rosewood fretboard, which looks great but also adds an ultra-smooth playing feel. And Grover Sta-Tite die-cast tuners offer exceptional tuning stability and precision.
