Selling a 1989 Modulus Quantum 5 string bass. This originally left the factory as a Quantum 5 SPX, with 2 J style pickups. A previous owner routed out the pickup cavity to fit soap bars, and then for the MM style pickup it currently has installed. It was like this when I got it. Electronics are a Bartolini Deep Tone MM style 5 string pickup and a Bartolini 9 volt preamp with 3 band eq, active passive bypass, and switchable mid frequency. A previous owner also sent the bass to Martin Sims to have his LED's installed in the side markers. They work great, just bright enough to see on stage. They run off the electronics battery and don't pull much current when in use. When I got the bass I swapped the stock tuners with Gotoh reso-lites to improve the balance. I still have the originals and will include them if you'd like them. The bridge looks like a Schaller. This bass is very light at 8.5 lbs and perfectly balanced. The bass also has inlaid strap locks, and I'll obviously make sure to include those. It is currently strung with Ken Smith Slick Rounds.
This is a killer bass, It sounds great, and is very comfortable to play. I dealt with some arthritis and RSI issues a couple years ago and this was the only bass I could play comfortably. I'm just not playing much these days and could use the money for other stuff. Reasonable offers are welcome.
I'm open to shipping this overseas, but please contact me first to get a shipping quote.
