 For sale a very rare (especially in this condition) and all original Westbury Custom. Top of the line of these guitars which include the Standard and the Deluxe. This Westbury Custom is the epitome or the best of vintage Japanese craftsmanship. I doubt you will ever find one in this almost perfect condition. The second to last picture shows the only blemish (a small scratch between the two pickups) looks like it was made yesterday. The Westbury Custom includes all the quality and features of the Westbury Standard plus a 6 position pick-up programmer for duel coil, single coil and in/out of phase functions. Triple Tortoise Shell Body with binding. DiMarzio "Duel-Sound" pick-ups with a bound 5 piece neck and head piece. Super heavy duty close ratio tuning machines. Extra long Travel Adjustable Bridge. Gold plated hardware throughout the guitar. Canadian Hard Rock Maple (arch-top) body and neck. Ebony fingerboard with Mother Of Pearl position markers. The Westbury Custom was available in an Antique Sunburst or a Tobacco Sunburst finish. Manufactured from 1978-81(82).
The Westbury pick-up Programmer can alter the custom guitar from a double coil format to a single coil model. A reversible combination of both or two out of phase functions.
With the 6 position rotary switch and 3 way pickup switch you can get 18 very usable sounds. From Surf jangle to biting blues to hard rock and even metal. The gold pickup covered Dimarzio Duel sound pickups are incredible sounding.
