Vintage Ludwig Jess Oliver Musser Ampli-Pickup Model 9144 Vibraphone Vibe Pickup

This works great. I've used it on both my Jen-co vibraphones (one student model, which is also for sale in my Reverb store, and one with graduated bars). Sounds really nice. There's a little paint on both of them, and the ends have been cut open, likely so a tech could service them. I've never needed them serviced. Once you get them lined up with your bars correctly, they're great. Includes the brackets, though you'll need to screw the three brackets into your vibraphone or come up with a clip system so you don't have to do that. These only come up for auction once or twice a year, as far as I can tell. Let me know if you have any questions. Please excuse the out-of-practice player in the video, recorded direct into a cheap interface, no effects, compression, nothing. I just quickly taped the pickups to the outside of my vibraphone and didn't realize I hadn't lines the bars up correctly, so some of the notes are quiet.

Here's some history on this unit: This is the Ludwig Oliver Musser Model 9205 Ampli-Pickup. Jess Oliver was one of the most important instrument innovators of our time. During his time with Ampeg in the 60's, Jess was personally responsible for forever changing the way amplifiers were made. Later, as the chief inventor for his own corporation, he set his sights on the amplified tonal advancement of other instruments. This is the Oliver Musser Ampli-Pickup. I have also seen this labeled as the Ludwig Oliver Electro-Vibe- it's the same unit. This is the model 9205- 44" long and recommended for the Musser 45, 45V, & 48(one niter). This can also be used with the Deagan 580, 581, & 582 and the Jenco 420-424, 430-434, 622, 635, & 638. This beauty is in exceptional condition- a real time machine piece. Tested and works as it should. This auction includes the brackets and mounting screws.
