This is a nice playing and sounding 2000 Ibanez Soundgear SDGR SR885L left-handed 5-string bass. It was made by the Fuji Gen Gakki company in Japan. Fujigen is the most respected guitar building firm in Japan. It's very clean with the exception of a small ding through the finish on the treble edge of the neck at the 9th fret and a hole drilled in the butt about 3 inches north of the original strap button. I can't feel the ding when playing; it's right at the edge of the fingerboard and away from where your palm or fingers make contact. It's original except for the volume and pan knobs (they were missing when I got the bass). There is no buckle rash nor any significant scratches. There is some very minor fabric & fingernail swirling which is impossible to avoid on black instruments. The frets show no wear and the bass plays very well. It has been recently set up with Fodera Diamond 45-125 stainless steel strings. It plays fast with no buzzes, rattles or dead spots.
ADX5 soapbar pickups, 9-volt 3-band preamp with variable midrange control. The bass has a surprisingly broad tonal palate and a big sound. Lots of bang for the buck. Bass is nice and light- right around 8 pounds. Slender neck
