Hi, thanks for stopping by.
You're looking at a 4558 chip based distortion pedal. Technically, it's two circuits in one box - an overdrive fed into a distortion. Such arrangement allows for much more versatility. The pedal goes from basically clean to slaughtering dirty, from chilling cold to muddy warm.
In a nutshell:
- Hand made, top to bottom.
- Quality hardware.
- True bypass.
- Ranges from clean boost to a well defined distortion.
- Standard 9V power jack.
- Free worldwide shipping, at your doorstep in less than two weeks.
Need more details? Here you go.
Meet the Chugga Chugga. The name is no coincidence. The pedal is designed with that very sound in mind. It's based on the 4558 chip, where one half of it is designed as an overdrive, and it feeds the other half - which is a distortion. In both cases, LEDs were used for clipping diodes - they provide that chunky, crispy drive sound, without the harshness of standard silicone diodes. The pedal - although capable of doing an almost clean boost - is not your another generic average "transparent drive". It's got its character, and it accentuates it in a very straightforward manner. Lots of gain, lots of low end, lots of midrange boost going on. It can go super muddy, it can go ears-bleeding crispy high, it can go honky with mids.
Let's go through the controls on that thing:
Volume - Easy. Sets how loud it goes.
Tone - Oh, this is where the fun begins. Super warm to the left, super bright to the right. And I mean extreme. Lots and lots of sweet spots in between.
Drive - You know what it does. Set it at minimum for a nice cleanish boost... but that's not what the pedal has been designed to do. Still, you sorta can. I just don't see the point. But again, you can.
Tight - this one's interesting. It's a variable low pass filter - setting how much low end is fed from the overdrive stage into the distortion stage. Turn it clockwise to "tighten" your tone - meaning to cut some of the low end. Veeery versatile. Also, what this knob will do depends a lot on how you set the tone and drive knobs. Those three are very interactive.
The pedal is hand made top to bottom. And I mean hand made. I designed the circuit, the PCB for it, the enclosure, hand etched the top plate, hand painted it… you get the idea. Not just another Chinese Tube Screamer clone put in a nice box.
Now, for the formalities. Your pedal ships out of Poland - smack dab in the centre of Europe. Takes about 10 to 15 days to arrive to the US, Canada, and similarly far off places. European buyers can expect it within a week or so.
You don't like the pedal? You send it back in less than 14 days, I pay you back the moment I receive it. No questions asked. You pay for return postage.
The pedal arrived dead? You ship it back, I ship replacement, I cover your shipping costs.
The pedal arrived alright, but you want more bass / less bass / more treble / less treble / more gain / a switch to do this, a knob to do that, etc, etc.? You contact me and we work this out. Every pedal I make can be further tailored to your individual needs.
You have any more questions? Feel free to shoot me a mesage.
