With Desirable all-Wood Cedar Padron Cigar Box with a thinner wood top to deliver that special tone.
Kit includes all the parts you need to build your own custom Cigar Box Guitar.

 The body is made of a large all-wood used cedar cigar box; the neck is constructed from hard Maple. No pine or poplar here!

Fret Ready, 25.5” scale length neck with a basic headstock. We cut the headstock and box recess to 5/8“ thick. We do not drill tuner holes for you so you can simply install tuners and your frets. Pre-slotted for 20 frets. Frets are not included in this kit!

Back edges of neck have been rounded with a 3/8" router up to the 18th fret slot. You can add your own frets if you want; we give you the choice to make the guitar your own -- fretted, fretless, or slide.

Neck is 34-36" long, 1.5" wide, there is 13" (or more) from the end of the last fret slot to tail end that is blank space enough for your tail piece design. Neck is finished with 180 fine grit sandpaper. Our necks may have a light bow. When they do, we make sure to always cut the headstock and box recess so that the headstock is bowed back instead of forward. This can actually be good. When the strings are on the neck, they will be more resilient to the string tension.

This kit comes with a real cigar box that once held cigars. The cigar box may have minor dings and scratches, and also may have labels left over from its’ former life.

What is required of you?
Just your imagination, a little time, some basic hand tools, glue and paint / stain of your choice. You will also need some basic knowledge and a few mechanical skills. The final design and embellishments are left totally up to you so you can make it your own.

We do not provide plans for the kits because there are so many ways to finish the guitars. We let you work within your imagination to design the guitar you want!

This Cigar Box Guitar Kit is inexpensive, great for first-timers, and a wonderful project for you to craft a cool instrument. No matter what your skill level, this guitar will be a compliment to your playing style; country, rock, blues, or pop.

Lighter gauge is generally easier to play, easier bending of notes and fretting break more easily less volume and sustain / prone to cause fret buzzing, especially on guitars with low action.
