If you're in the Chicago area and you'd like to try this or any of my other pieces of gear please visit my shop at 5224 N Clark (located inside a larger shop called Transistor). I also carry a large selection of vintage guitars, basses, amps and effects, records, hand percussion, 70s drum machines, 80's synths, accessories for guitarists and bassists, Rock and Roll and music-related memorabilia and more!
Companion Air Organ
Year: 1960s/1970s
Origin: Italy
Power requirements: 120v attached power cable
Color: Gray with gold accents
Modifications/Repairs: None
Cosmetic Condition: Very good with some discoloration to the tolex, some light scratching on some of the keys that is very hard to see and impossible to feel and some oxidation on the handle. Overall condition is an 8.5 out of 10
Operational Condition: Fully-functioning. With these old chord organs there can be some occasional tuning irregularities due to the fan not blowing enough air through the reeds. This particular unit is behaving very, very well but you may notice some slight "drift" in tuning between the chord buttons and certain notes. If you're recording using Garage Band or Logic, etc. you can make subtle pitch adjustments as you see fit. This is all part of the charm of the chord organ! I've owned roughly 20 chord organs and they all do this. This particular one plays exceptionally well compared to others, however.

Description:
An endlessly charming, reed-based, mechanical instrument that sounds a lot like an accordion. Plug it in, hear the comforting whirl of the fan speed up and then play full chords with the touch of one of the 6 buttons on the side and accompany with your right hand on the piano keys. Killer for indie rock, folk, polkas, Italian cafe music, French film soundtracks, etc.
