I absolutely love Grover Jacksons Hellhound. With a single coil in the Bridge and a fat Humbucker in the neck this guitar has a mojo that cannot be beaten. This has Keith Richards Written all over her.

The heavy relicing done by former Fender custom shop guys who are now part of the Grover Jackson artisan team is exquisite. Just take a look at the pictures, i have tried to show you just how well and authentically the team have crafted this instrument. The neck edges are beautifully rounded off simulating wear. The checking of the varnish finish is perfect. The scratch plate is nicely yellowed and all hardware patina'd. This guitar has a vibrant zing to her and you can feel the whole body and neck vibrating against you as you play. I asked Jon and Grover to pour some extra love into this guitar and they have done precisely that.

Back in the 80s I had a Charvel Tele shaped guitar and it was ok. In the end it was stolen in Japan whilst I was travelling there. Talking to Grover about the Hellhound he explained that the guitars he is making now are the best of his life. This Hellhound is the evolution of the tele guitar incorporating all of his most sought after touches but reinvented with a retro feel. The neck is Grovers trademark statement. A compound radius with large frets to make playing and bending easy at any point on the neck. This neck is so comfortable with its wide and shallow feel finished with a satin sheen that allows for smooth glides up and down the neck. It looks like a 50s modded tele with its vintage aged bridge but plays fast and easily all the way up the fret board like a 50s tele never could. The Sugar Pine body allows the guitar to really resonate against you as you play. One of my favourite woods for Hellhound Tele style guiatrs. This guitar will do country perfectly but what it really loves is a bit of Waitin for the ZZ Top Bus All Day.
Grover winds his own Habanero pickups. They are not the overwound high output units that people think give a good driven sound. Grovers pickups focus on tone. They are subtle in their response giving bite when you dig in and lightness as you ease off. These pickups are well suited to all styles but in particular to all the rock artists that he has helped make famous over the years. This guitar will give you years of perfect service making your playing sound fantastic whilst looking great at the same time.
This guitar is in perfect new condition as I bought it despite the heavy ageing and age stained neck. Perfectly setup and ready to rock. The case is of course included. Pictures were taken on my iphone in my sons bedroom. No fancy studio with lighting and photoshop like you see elsewhere on the internet.
Grovers attention to detail cover all aspects of building to finishing to setup. All his guitars are plekked before they leave the factory ensuring that we receive the best playing guitar possible straight out of the case.
Grover Jackson is infamous as the founder of the original hot rodded super strats back in the 70s. He developed Charvel and Jackson into globally recognized guitar brands. Charvel and Jackson were eventually sold to the Fender Corporation Global group of  Brands. As an artisan and guitar builder Grover was not happy with the quality and design of the current guitars available and with his partner Jon Gold sought to Design a range of guitars that would perfect his original designs and create a legacy worthy of his name.
I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Jon and Grover for a few years and have been amazed by the quality and consistency of their guitars. I have owned all of their models and enjoy each one for different reasons. A few years ago Grover and I were at a Stones concert together and we enjoyed a meal and a couple of drinks discussing guitar building. His passion and vision is evident in every single guitar he builds, He is a perfectionist. Check out Grovers You Tube postings. He is a true Gentleman.
I have been collecting guitars for 30 years now and have been through the vintage instrument phase. Whilst I loved the older instruments they always lack quality and have some issues. Today makers such as Grover Jackson have exquisite attention to detail and Grover by his own admission is making the best guitars of his life so why buy an old one that is not as good or one that is not even made by him! He produces some of the very best hand crafted guitars in the US. I have had a number of Gibson and Fender custom shop instruments the finishing on which is poor in comparison to Grovers guitars. . Now I am in the fortunate financial position to indulge my hobby of collecting, speccing and buying new guitars built by Mastercraftsmen, enjoy them at home for a while, sell them and buy another one. Over the coming months due to space restrictions I am slimming my collection down and will be revolving about two dozen guitars. Thank you for reading Nick
