Alberto Macias Bajo Quinto
This Alberto Macias Bajo Quinto is in excellent condition.
The bridge is on very solidly and there is just a hint of wear starting on the first few frets.
It has a Dean Markley ZH-7 soundhole pickup installed. We will ship the bajo with the pickup removed so that it doesn't come loose during shipping.
The finish is all original and if you are not familiar with Macias instruments, they look very hand made indeed. It does not have a super shiny plastic Chinese "factory" finish like most of the factory turned out Bajos made today.
The strap buttons are not original. There is one extra strap button hole at the heel (see pic).
Comes with a used hardshell case.
There are a few light dings and scratches, but overall, it's in excellent condition (please see pics).
Please see all the photos for a more complete visual description.
Hand-made in San Antonio, Texas, it takes 6-8 months to make a Macias bajo. Macias bajos are known the world over for being the "Stradivarius"or the "Rolls Royce" of bajos.
Alberto, who sadly passed away in 2009, learned the craft from his father Martin. Albert's son George carries on the tradition and is now teaching his son Chris the art of bajo making.
We also have this listed on Ebay. Due to the high fees on Ebay, we are able to work with you more on the price if you buy from Reverb.
