This is a pretty rare guitar and given the low Serial Number of 451 (ink stamped in the control cavity) makes it one of the very first Gary Cooper builds as the Oasis Brand. Gary Cooper was the luthier for Alembic pre 1974 and was the guitar builder for Jerry Garcia from the Grateful Dead. This guitar is extremely rare and plays amazing.
Every one of his guitars were a one of a kind, since all were custom ordered to customer specs. Honduran Mahogany body, maple neck with walnut runner that's as solid as a rock, set neck, ebony finger board, 25 1/2" scale, flat radius with low action and a chunky neck profile. This guitar has the Oasis head stock logo without the name making it a very early prototype. original pots, caps & wiring with Gibson Dirty Finger Pickups added in the '80s.
Cosmetically its not perfect since its a 45+/- year old vintage guitar, but extremely respectable. Flaws may include minor discoloring, dings, scratches, marks, scuffs and a few top cracks near the control knobs that have been there for years and have remained the same. The neck is chunky & bullet proof maple with a walnut runner, perfectly straight with perfect relief. This guitar has a truss rod for added support, but appears to have been made to be non adjustable. Its 48 years old and the neck is still perfect and I wouldn't change a thing. (more pics if needed).
