The 4MS Tapographic Delay is a multi tap delay, but it’s a pun because it’s not a multi tap delay like you’re thinking. it has a FSR tap pad on it, like the synthwerks FSR. a Force Sensing Resistor, which is a true pressure sensing pad, unlike a copper pad which reacts to the surface area of your skin.
FSRs are velocity sensitive. when you tap the pad, you’re tapping velocity sensitive delay taps, or your delay pattern, your velocity echoes. you can assign that velocity to the amplitude of the echoes, the loudness, or to the LPF or BPF.
You can speed up and squoosh the delay, and they essentially become reflections off a room, like a reverb, and the amount of velocity can be related to the amount of reflection or the dampening coming off the surface of the room. It can also do pitch shifting, and bendy stretching delays."
