The Kramer Elliot Easton is the coolest Floyd Rose guitar that you've never played.
MAKE ME AN OFFER---I'M LOOKING TO MOVE THIS!
Hot damn the EE Pros are rare. These were one of Kramer USA's last-ditch efforts to right the course before inevitable bankruptcy. They ended up being the final American Series models that they produced. The more common Elliot Easton's came in maple while this particular model features a thinner D-shaped maple neck with a fingerboard that has been said to be Brazilian Rosewood---it sure looks and feels like it! Combined with the jumbo frets, this is one of the best models Kramers ever put out.
Bar none, these are some of the most playable guitars I have ever gotten my hands on. A neck like the one on this is outstanding. It feels like a vintage Fender strat, only much thinner. It's a total speed-racer and it might be my favorite Floyd-guitar of all time.
There's a huge amount of up/down pull like a JEM and it's hard to believe that this model didn't take off like it. The hardtail version is also incredible. I tried this guitar side-by-side with an original 1987 Ibanez LNG JEM777 (you know the one, see pic) and it is every bit as good if not better as an instrument of the time. They are each their own thing, but the Kramer is just so tonally diverse and plays so nicely that the guitar should be a classic in-and-of itself.
As a functional instrument it stays in superb tune and I've never played a Floyd guitar that stayed in tune better. I come from the school of Stevie Ray Vaughan, so I've knocked every guitar I've ever owned out of tune, except for this one. That is no exaggeration, you will see for yourself.
The electronics in this function flawlessly and the guitar is one hundred percent original. I normally hate pickup switches, but the switching system on this was expertly designed by Tom Anderson and allows for many different pickup combinations. Even better, is very easy to understand. The top switch is for to activate a coil-split, and when it is activated you can choose between which coil of the humbucker you want to activate in the bridge based on where you set the switch. The vintage Seymour Duncans in this sound so good that it's beyond words. The diversity and range in the tones you can achieve with this guitar will blow you away. It can sound like Nile Rodgers strat, a 50s tele and a barking Les Paul. Everyone who tries this thing says this same thing---wow!!!
This particular model is in spectacular condition with a clean face outside of some absurdly minor pick scratches and only a few small scratches/dings throughout the back. The guitar is an absolute stunner and the finish is beauty defined. The aesthetic and artistic design of the guitar is arguably Kramer's highest achievement. It was acquired from an owner in Neptune, NJ so you'd have to assume just based on the Kramer HQ plant being in Neptune that this guitar is a small-town girl. The guitar comes with whammy bar and original hardshell case (message for pictures, it's pretty special.)
There are very few of these remaining especially in this color and this kind of condition. Don't let this one slip away at $1150.
