The 6-ply 5.6mm shells increase dynamic range and sustain, the 2.3mm Dynahoops on the toms and floor toms insure proper resonance and control.
One other great addition Yamaha includes is all USA made Remo Ambassador clear heads top and bottom for the toms and a Remo clear P3 with a patch for the kick.
