Here's a remarkably clean example of a generally unbelievable acoustic guitar. This circa-1930s Kel Kroydon KK-1 L-00 "Birds" model owned by Jeff Tweedy of Wilco is in great condition, with a clear and wonderful tone and a feel to match. These "Birds" guitars have become one of Tweedy's signature live guitars with both Wilco and Tweedy, and for good reason.

Kel Kroydon was one of Gibson's first "off-brand" lines, built for a "greatly depressed" American economy and offered at much lower prices than Gibson instruments. Other than the lack of adjustable truss rod, however, the Kel Kroyden-branded instruments are essentially identical in build quality to the Gibson instruments of the same period.

This one comes with a nice unoriginal case, and a certificate of authenticity signed by Jeff Tweedy.

Each purchase includes a vinyl copy of Wilco’s Star Wars, a new album featuring 11 original songs. 180g vinyl available now.
