This guitar has sat in a case since the early 90's. It's red color is very bright and has not faded at all. The guitar is in great shape but has a few very small nicks/dings on the back of the guitar, one on the top edge of the guitar, a very small nick near it on the front of the guitar, and a chip off the finish on the bottom edge of the guitar. There is also a burn mark on the pick guard from a kid putting a cigarette out on it when a teenage house party got busted in the late 80's. The guitar is not perfect but has a new feel to it even with the few small nicks/dings, chip and burn mark. The red finish is as vibrant as it was in the 80's. I'm not sure of the exact name for this shade of red. Could be Candy Apple Red, Torino Red, Bright Red, Dakota Red, Cherry Red, Tomato Red, Million Dollar Red, or just Red. All I can tell you with absolute certainty is that it's not Blue.
