It's become the standard by which all other big bass sounds are judged. This SVT-4PRO offers all of the classic SVT volume and tone, but in a much more modern and intuitive package. The sound is gargantuan, rich and clear. It's the type of bass tone that doesn't really scream one style or another - this head will work equally well in rock, blues, metal, indie, pop, and just about everything else. The 9-band graphic EQ makes dialing in your sound quick and easy, and Ampeg has also included a frequency control that lets you sculpt the midrange to your liking. Item Details This Ampeg SVT-4PRO Rackmountable Bass Head is extremely powerful. It can run at 300 watts at 8 ohms, 490 watts at 4 ohms, or 600 watts at 2 ohms. Good luck finding a venue that's too big for that. As a hybrid amp, there are three preamp tubes (12AX7) but a solid-state power amp. You'll get the warmth of tubes with the transparency of solid-state construction. The 9-band graphic EQ makes it easy to dial in your exact sound, and the frequency control will let you set the center frequency on the midrange. With the ultra low and high boosts, there is pretty much no tonal territory this amp can't cover. This amp is also loaded up with everything you could possibly need to make your gigging and recording life easier. There are two effects loops, a tuner out, two power amp out/in, bi-amp out/in, and 4 speaker outputs. You're not going to find something with more power, more sonic options and more tone.
