Vintage 1942 Gibson LG-1 (one of only 130 X-braced all mahogany LG-1's made)

For the same cost of the reissue Gibson put out a few years ago you can have the real deal! This is the All mahogany version and one of only about 130 LG-1's made in 1942, which were discontinued until the ladder braced version was reintroduced in 1947. Replaced bridge and bridge plate(thin mahogany). All original finish but the finish looks to have been buffed around the bridge when it was replaced. It is not the prettiest or a historically accurate replacement bridge but the saddle is tall and it's solid. I did not have the work done so I do not know what when into it.  Top cracks are stabilized and there are signs of the original bridge maybe flying off of the top because each corner of the bridge has some touch up. Those are all the warts.

The good: the Neck has bee reset and refretted by Herb Key who works with Wayne Henderson and it could not be set up any better. Looks to be original 40's leather handled case. Tone is wide open. This is a fingerpicking blues machine and it's the best sounding LG i have ever played. it even sounds better than some banner J-45's i have played. Selling bc i am developing arthritis in my left hand and moving to smaller necks.  Lightweight guitar.  

Sold as is.  A recent Gibson pickguard is in the case with the guitar.  Really cool and super rare guitar.
