Roland D-550 OS v1.02 EPROM Firmware Upgrade KIT

• OS v1.02 is the last known revision issued by Roland for the D-550
• Included will be 1 new ATMEL EPROM chip to complete the upgrade.

Keep in mind that the D-550 itself is not for sale, only the EPROM chip is.

• This version 1.02 upgrade is serves as a supplemental release, intended to iron out any remaining kinks affecting general stability, bugs and improve performance within the firmware code.
• Before purchasing, check which firmware your D-550 is running: Switch on the power while holding PATCH BANK 6 + PATCH NUMBER 6 and EXIT. The first line displayed should show the current ROM version installed and subsequently enter in to normal play mode.
• Note – It is important to mention that certain D-550 mainboard revisions do not come with DIP28 removable ROM sockets and instead have the existing ROM soldered directly to the mainboard.
• If you happen to have one of these D-550’s, you will need to desolder the existing ROM to complete the upgrade.
• I can provide you with a FREE DIP28 ROM socket if you need.
