G.Gould GGi5 2018 - Bees Wing Burst

Our newest GGi5 bass from G.Gould is a show-stopper. The transparent “bees wing burst” finish brings out remarkable contrast in the quilted maple top. The back is lightweight alder, making this a comfortable, easy-to-play 5-string (low-mass Gotoh tuners and an aluminum ABM bridge help keep the entire bass under 9 lbs.).

The graphite neck has a phenolic fingerboard with 24 frets and 35” scale—another Gould innovation—to allow proper tension and improved tuning on the low B string. The electronics package features EMG X pickups (EMG-CSX humbucker in the bridge, and the proprietary EMG-CSX-GG in the neck).  These are run through the EMG-BTS Active Bass and Treble system.The result is great sound and feel to match the gorgeous look.

Gould, Geoff Gould is known as “the Godfather of Graphite.” As founder and president of Modulus Graphite, Geoff introduced the world to carbon fiber composite-neck basses (among other innovations). Now he’s crafting spectacular instruments with his eponymous G.Gould Music brand, and we love ‘em!
