Up for sale is a beautiful vintage Warwick Streamer, in original factory white.
Streamer #1031, hand-built in November of 1987, West Germany.
Not too many 80's Wicks were painted from the factory and this Streamer has turned from it's original white, into the most lovely cream white. Truly a gorgeous bass and so fun to play.
For the most part, it's in great shape. There are a few blemishes to point out, as well as just a couple things that are not original. Nevertheless, this bass is solid, looks and plays fantastic...and is a piece of Warwick history from the golden era.
The pick-ups are not original (EMG's are standard in this time period for Streamers), and have been replaced at some point with Warwick's own MEC pups. The push/pull knob has been replaced with an identical original Warwick knob from the Warwick Nashville showroom. Lastly, it was upgraded to 18v, hence the extra battery.
There are a few nicks here and there, but nothing too major. Overall, the finish looks fantastic. I've posted pics of the biggest ones. At some point the previous owner must have soldered one of the wires for one of the 9-volt battery connectors. It looks a little funky, but I've changed out batteries several times and it's held up no problem. You could easily install/solder a new connector if you needed/wanted to. I've posted a pic of that as well. Also the tab that holds the battery compartment door on, is broken. Tape is holding it. No worries.
No cracks near the headstock, which some of these early Streamers are known for (before they introduced the volute on Wicks). The relief for me is perfect. I have never touched the truss rod since I've owned this. As mentioned, these early Wicks are notorious for those cracks near the headstock, due in part to there being no volute....and since the relief was always good... I never touched the truss rod. Just didn't need to and didn't want to risk it on such a special Warwick. As far as I know, it's fine. The input jack is a little worn, a little loose when plugging in, with a little bit of crackle (when moving around)...but again, nothing too uncommon for a 30+ year old bass. There is some fret wear, but nothing abnormal for a bass that's been played for several decades.

Your Streamer looks pretty much original and I think beside the control nothing is changed.. the way of the lacquering is even original, even the front headstock.. We did many instruments with a clear headstock front... the small lines in the front are joints.. so even that's no problem and the vintage white color .. how beautiful the white changed to the vintage cream white.. very nice instrument.... here the specs...
