RARE 1967 Firstman Liverpool Special.
Along with the Teisco Spectrum 5, the Teisco May Queen, the Guyatone LG-200T, the Guyatone LG-160T, and the Tokai Hummingbird, the Firstman Liverpool Deluxe is one of the most collectable and sought after Japanese "bizarre" guitars of the 60s.
The Firstman Liverpool Special first appeared around 1967. There was the Junior model, the Special, and a Deluxe model.
If there was a Batman Bat-guitar, then this is it!
I've had this guitar for a while and never really used it, so I've decided to sell it on for somebody else to enjoy.
The pots, switch, and jack were changed, so there are no sound issues.
The guitar could do with some work on the playability. I'm not sure if the bridge is original. It's as low as it will go, and there is a shim in the neck, but the action is still high. You'd probably be better off putting a different/lower bridge on this guitar if you wanted to make it more playable. The neck appears straight.
Like many guitars of the 60s, the guitar is heavily coated in almost plastic-like thick lacquer, and there are lacquer cracks throughout.
There is also corrosion/rust on the pegs, and arm. Please refer to the photos. There is also a small crack in the wood visible through the soundhole which needs filled/sealed with glue (the crack is not visible on the outside of the guitar or in the finish).
The scratchplate is missing.
So basically, the guitar works fine, but is going to need a setup and TLC by a luthier.
The condition is reflected in the price.
The guitar will be sent by EMS expedited shipping, with tracking.
I pride myself in honesty and accuracy with my listings. f you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Further photos available upon request. I don't want to deal with returns as much as you, so I'd rather the customer know exactly what they are getting.
