You definitely don't see these Explorers every day! Here we have a super cool (and very rare) Gibson Custom Shop Allen Collins Explorer, made in 2003. The run was supposed to be limited to 100 pieces. It's said that the run was never completed - regardless of total numbers made, this one clocks in at the low serial of #9. Relic work on this run of guitars was also done by master of aging techniques Tom Murphy.
The Allen Collins Explorer has a Korina body and neck along with Rosewood fretboard, a Maestro Vibrola, and two Classic '57 humbuckers. The guitar is modeled after Collins' '58 Explorer, down to every last ding and dent, and including the labelmaker message stuck on the back of the guitar. The guitar is in excellent condition and includes the original roadcase along with certificate of authenticity and accessories. This is an Explorer that any Skynyrd or Gibson enthusiast shouldn't miss.
