This Bass is one of maybe five lefty EB-0's made during the 60's. All lefty Guitars and Basses from Gibson in the 1960's were special orders. Gibson had to switch over their factory to make left handed instruments only making them for 2 weeks out of the year. Because of Gibson's short production of left handed instruments there was a long wait after you ordered, sometimes up to a year. Unlike Gibson I ship the same the day. For a nearly 50 year old bass it is in pretty good condition. The Cherry finish has not faded, it was kept in a case for the vast majority of it's life. If you ever wondered what a Gibson Cherry finish looked like in the 60's your looking at it. It has some belt rash and the logo/crown have some flaking. There are a few dings around the body and around some of the edges and all can be seen in the pictures provided. The bass is currently strung righty. The nut needs to be adjusted or switched back to a lefty nut. The bass should also have a set up. I was told by a luthier to leave the bass as it is so a buyer could pick whatever nut they want to put on it should they choose to change it. This Bass is in great condition for it's age. The bass includes the bridge cover with screws. The pot's date this bass to 1969, but the serial number dates it to 1967. The bass could have been sitting around in the factory for a while till completion in 1969. This bass weighs 7 pounds 2 ounces which is very light for an EB-0 and very light for a bass in general. My bass is NOT a factory second. I've seen two of those floating around. Factory seconds were defective products in one way or another and were sold as such. Their price was marked down accordingly, instead of being thrown out at the factory as Gibson does today for quality control. Factory seconds are marked by a 2 on the back of the headstock, mine is not.

This EB-0 comes with the vintage 1960's Gibson case in the photos. The case is in great condition. All the latches work perfectly. The case is black with a gold interior.

So if you are a lefty looking for an extremely rare left handed Gibson bass from the 60's or just some righty who wants to leave one less great bass option for the lefties, this is your bass!

*I'm only willing to trade if you're Paul McCartney.
