I’m offering this very desirable, fully functional and fantastic sounding 1957 Deluxe tube amp by Fender. This amp is indeed a survivor. Although Fender offered the JBL D120 speaker as an option for many years, I believe this one is a slightly later replacement. The speaker baffle has been modded to utilize a pair of CTS tweeters which I removed soon after I got the amp. I have taken a picture of the baffle after removing the tweets.

I had a request to provide the transformer codes for this amp. Probably should have posted them with my original listing. Anyway, here they are along with pictures. 6452 power, 50246 output.

This amp sounds exceptional even amongst the best vintage tube amps. Pardon my noodling in the video but I was trying to show just how easily this amp squeezes out harmonic overtones with almost any note or chord. I noticed that there is a slight natural reverb that comes through in the clip but it must be due to the flooring and higher ceilings. I added no effects of any kind in making the demo. The signal path was guitar to cable to amp… Most of it was recorded with the amp volume at around 6 but I think the camera compresses the audio somewhat because it was much louder in person. I hope the purity of the tone makes it through to your speakers because it is exquisite for sure.

This amp is truly a joy to play through. All you need do is use your guitars volume to go from ultra-sweet cleans to down and dirty grit. The tone is very active but I like to leave it around 6.5 to get a little more bite. I tried to show its range early in the clip.

The amp has been serviced in the past with some components being upgraded. Please view the pics of the chassis and you will see everything is nice and tidy. To my knowledge the transformers are original. I’ll just say the cabinet has great patina. It is very solid and with the exception of the modified baffle and JBL D120 speaker, I believe the amp is unmolested. I have a brand new repro leather handle which will go with the amp.

The tube chart is shown and 100% legible. The amp dates to April 1957.

While this amp may be too well loved to be a collector piece, it absolutely shines doing what it was meant to do….which is make you WANT to lay into it. If you have been looking for “that tweed sound” this is the one. Thanks for looking!
