2 (1 pair) quick-connect adapters that you would use to solder to your conventional Gibson, Seymour Duncan, DiMarzio, etc 4-conductor (5-wire) humbucker leads so that you may plug your conventional humbuckers into a Gibson PCB harness with the small white 5-pin quick connect receptacles (see pics, especially the 2nd pic) .

Before ordering, it is advisable to compare all of the pics above to the pickup to PCB quick connections inside your guitar.  By removing the control cavity cover on the back of your guitar, you should see that your stock pickups have the smaller white quick connectors / receptacles (5 pins), as you see in the pics above.  If your guitar has the larger black 2-pin connectors / receptacles, see my other listings for that adapter.

I will send a standard pair color coded for Gibson, unless you would like a pair for Seymour Duncan, DiMarzio, or other pickup manufacturers.  Read more below.

These are hand made in Phoenix, Arizona, the connections are all soldered (not just crimped), then a piece of heat-shrink tubing is used to reinforce  the  connections at the connector.  Also, the ends you that will solder your pickups to are pre-tinned.

NOTE: The careful soldering process that I employ does not weaken the wire at the terminal as you may have read elsewhere.  That assertion is complete hogwash and a weak attempt at gaining a competitive edge (you know who you are!).

Each wire is about 5 inches in length, which should give you plenty of wire to work with.  Their length may even serve to extend pickup leads that were cut too short so they may reach the control cavity, if you have that issue.

After assembly, each individual lead is tested for continuity.  Included is heat shrink tubing to insulate your individual connections after you have soldered them.  Be sure to slide the shrink tubing onto the adapter wires before soldering.  Then after soldering use a lighter or heat gun to shrink for nice clean connections.  See "Tips for doing a clean solder job with these adapters" section below for step by step instructions.

The standard set of adapters are color coded for Gibson 4-conductor (5-wire) humbuckers, and the YELLOW LEAD IS FOR BARE GROUND (shield).

BUT, I can also make a set that is color coded for Seymour Duncan, DiMarzio, Fender, Lace, Suhr, Bare Knuckles, EMG,  Jackson, Peavey, etc pickups, or you can request a mix; any two, you choose.

If you would like a set other than the standard Gibson set, be sure to send a message after checkout, and for which pickup.

Regardless of the color coding that you order, the YELLOW LEAD IS FOR BARE GROUND (shield).

This listing is for 1 pair of adapters.  The pic of the Gibson PCB (circuit board with pots) is for reference purposes only.

Tips for doing a clean solder job with these adapters:

1) shrink tubing
- before soldering, slide a piece of shrink tubing (included) onto each lead, either onto the adapter leads or the pickup leads

- you will notice that each adapter lead end has already been prepared (stripped, twisted, and tinned); you will want to prep the pickup leads in similar fashion, if needed, keep reading...

2) prepare pickup leads (if needed)
If your pickup leads are not already prepared, do the following:

- strip pickup wire ends about 1/4 inch each

- twist the exposed stranded wire tightly on each lead end

- tin the twisted wire on each lead (melt some solder into the twisted wire)

- the end result should be like what you see on the adapter lead ends

3) solder pickup leads to adapter leads
- put tinned end of adapter wire alongside (parallel) tinned end of pickup wire, like two fingers side-by-side, but coming from opposite directions

- heat with solder until both tinned ends (that are sitting side by side) melt together; this may require a little extra solder, but usually not if ends on both sides are tinned properly

- let cool for 10 seconds

4) finish with shrink tubing
- slide shrink tubing to cover the solder joint

- use a lighter, match, or heat gun (the best option) to shrink up shrink tubing
