The ToneFancier series of pedals put Biyang on the worldwide map for a series of great sounding units at a very affordable price. Featuring a stainless steel case enclosure, german made WIMA capacitors which ensures a fast and very low loss signal transfer (not often seen in general effects pedals, along with True Bypass construction.

This is a great Overdrive in their new line and an AWESOME upgrade on the original OD-7 for Biyang in the stomp series.  Can certainly compete with more well known (and much more expensive) new or vintage rivals.  
Product Description:

In the 70s, Maxon used the JRC4558 chipset and successfully created a much sought after overdrive pedal. Soon after, Ibanez, Boss and other pedal makers started to make use of this chipset that made the JRC4558 chip famous for it's smooth and powerful Overdrive sound. With more advanced technology, Biyang can now use even better quality JRC4558 chipsets to achieve an even better sound! The OD-7 is a favorite of many players and the new OD-8 provides even more options for tone switch.  

 You can also..... change chip sets yourself !!!  Maybe a first on any unit of recent memory.

The biggest breakthrough in technology is that the OD-8 allows the user to change the chipset to create the different tone he or she desires without soldering and the expertise of professionals, just like changing a processor of a computer....**** Located on the back of the unit (behind an enclosed door.... just like the battery compartment)  the OD-8 comes with 2 additional chips that you can change out yourself for more tone options.  

The additional chip change set:

1. The KWK737 chip  features really good drive with nice treble overtones .
2. The NE5532 chip has  some serious growl and presence that sounds great with either chord work or solos. 

 They can be powered by either a 9V battery or by any compatible AC adaptor currently being sold.

True Bypass

The true bypass means that the input jack is connected directly to the output when the pedal is switched off. The sound coming in is totally unaffected by any filter or circuitry and it allows the player to truly differentiate when the effect is on or off.

Very nice stainless steel enclosure(no plastic here!) and metal stomp switch to assure you that it is meant to be played . They are made to withstand harsh floor-usage environments and with heavy-duty rubber on the underside, it doesn’t move or slide away easily.

The pedal can be powered by 9 volt battery or AC power adapter 9V 100 mA (not included)
