GERMAN-MADE — NOT A ROCKBASS!
A real gem of a bass. A custom-shop eight-string Fortress lefty. This model has been discontinued by Warwick so you won't find a lefty like this anywhere else. This is the only German-made one I've ever seen, despite scouring the internet for others.
The ocean blue stain is gorgeous. You can really see the intricacies of the wood. The neck is fat and smooth, the frets are that lovely bell brass that only Warwick makes. MEC pickups sound dope: clear, resonant, thick.
Everything works. The bass ounds amazing. There are some minor marks (listed below), but other than those it looks new. Channel your inner "Jeremy" with this one-of-a-kind instrument.

APPRAISAL BY GRUEN GUITARS:November 30, 2015I have examined the attached photos of the instrument described below, but have not seen the instrument itself. Below is my estimate, based on these photos, of the instrument’s value; however, it is not possible to judge from photos alone the exact state of originality and need of repair, so my appraisal is only accurate insofar as the photos are representative of the actual condition of the instrument. We certify the eight-string electric bass described below is, in our opinion, a Warwick Custom Shop Fortress I left-handed model made in Germany in the year 2002.
Description: Serial number T000004 02. Based upon examination of the photos, this instrument appears to be in fine condition. It features bolt-on neck, two-piece maple body, two black plastic covered active pickups (the middle position is a split pickup), and transparent blue finish.
Current market value: $3,500 (three thousand five hundred dollars)
WHY I AM SELLING:
I'm a fingerstyle player and I never really got the hang of producing a consistent tone. Might be a finger-strength issue, I'm not sure, it just never felt natural to me. With a pick, this thing should be registered as a lethal weapon. If you are a more skilled finger style player than I, you might be in business.
BLEMISHES:
Only two that I can see: a white scratch on the lower horn, and some buckle rash / sticker residue on the back plate.
STRAPLOCKS:
Dunlop flushmount recessed. Be aware these are recessed straplocks (pictured), and I do not have the male part. Since I never played this instrument live, I never bothered to get the straplocks.
BEATER CASE:
Shipping in a hard case (pictured) for protection. Case is shedding foam internally, but workable. I am not charging for the case.
