1989 Fender Squier USA American Made Stratocaster-Rare USA produced Squier

This is a relist, perhaps you saw it previously when it was dusty, I decided to overhaul it this past weekend and this is the result-

Yes this is a legit 1989 made American Stratocaster. During 9 months in 1989-90 a limited number of Squier branded USA Stratocasters were made. These are very rare and also well regarded. This one needed a total overall. I have adjusted this neck myself and the truss rod turns with ease and works properly, the neck is fantastic on this guitar. I bought this from the original owner who stopped playing it in the early 90s (thus the frets are excellent)but moved it around his closet 25 years without a case, got plenty of dings, dents, chips and scratches and overall very dusty. The back of the headstock has some small fine cracks that originate from the screw holes but do not go deep into it, my 1986 has the same thing but more. Everything is original to it. From what I read they used American necks, and I believe this as its a nicely rolled fretboard edges and looks much like a 62 RI neck does with the heel phillips adjustment and rolling of the edges, American bodies and then a mix of Mexican and foreign squier hardware. The body has blockier contours then newer fenders but you can see the neck pocket has a 1990 date, also the wood is solid wood, Idk what kind but maybe alder or poplar. while they have said the hardware used was cheaper it does have a nice set of tuning machines. The weekend of March 18th the guitar was totally dismantled. Every part of the guitar down to each screw was cleaned. All electronics were serviced with pot cleaner. The body, pickguard and all chrome hardware were cleaned with windex and polish. The neck was clean, board was soaked and cleaned with lemon oil multiple times. The guitar was restrung with new Ernie Ball slinky 10's. The guitar was set up and plays great. All electronics, volume, both tones and switch work as they should. Lots of time and elbow grease went into this but its a well worthy guitar. At the price of a used Mexican Strat I would take this any day. As shown the guitar has lots of wear but its cleaned, serviced and ready to go, just shows the natural relic wear to the finish. All photos of the neck heel, body pocket and the neck without strings was during the guitars cleaning. As I started to string it and had the E string on I decided to photograph the frets and board without strings obscuring it. I stated Squier 62 RI as it is cosmetically close to a 62 RI in terms of the neck, color and vintage appointments but its in no way a 62 RI. Plenty of information on these squiers via google.
