Fender Coronado Bass II 1967 Sunburst Player Grade
Time to part with this beautiful bass. It’s a 1967 Fender Coronado Bass II. It’s definately a player as I’ve used it on many gigs. I changed the neck pickup to a Curtis Novak Goldfoil pickup and it really woke this thing up. I still have the original pickup in the original Victoria hardshell case, too. The bezel for that pickup is in pieces unfortunately but I kept it all. The bridge pickup is original but is not outputting properly, it will need to be rewound. The bass also has foam stuffed in the upper F-hole to cut back on feedback on stage. Also at some point the previous owner moved the top thumb rest to a different location, those holes are still present on the body.
Overall the bass plays great, the action could come down a bit but I personally love how it sits now. It’s got super old D’addario flats on it too so it’s just a thump machine especially with that goldfoil installed.
