Vintage Advent /2 Loudspeakers – Ground-Up Restoration & Upgrades – Matched Pair

For sale is a matched pair of vintage Advent /2 loudspeakers that have just completed an extensive, ground-up restoration on the workbench. These classic 2-way acoustic suspension speakers deliver the famous, warm, and highly musical Advent Sound with the reliability and performance of a fresh rebuild. No corners were cut during this complete overhaul.

A major part of this restoration involved a highly time-consuming retro-brightening process on the cabinets to completely reverse decades of UV yellowing and discoloration, restoring the original factory finish. Internally, the original, drifted factory capacitors were pulled and replaced with premium, audio-grade metal film capacitors, completely restoring the crisp high-frequency detail, imaging, and factory-spec balance. The fragile original speaker connections have been completely removed and upgraded to premium, gold-plated 5-way binding posts to accept modern banana plugs, spade connectors, or heavy-gauge bare wire. The 8-inch woofers have been meticulously refoamed using premium surrounds, perfectly centered for deep, distortion-free bass response. The original iconic Advent badges are intact and the classic grill assemblies have been cleaned.

These are fully tested, plug-and-play ready, and built to last in a dedicated vintage hi-fi system. Specifications: 2-way acoustic suspension design, 8 Ohms nominal impedance, 1x 8-inch high-excursion woofer, and 2x cone tweeters. Speakers will be packed with professional bench care using heavy-duty, double-walled boxes and dense cushioning to guarantee safe arrival. Ships fully insured with tracking.
