Martin / 2024 000-28 Standard

Martin has continued to shape the history of the acoustic guitar itself, and the 000-28 stands alongside the D-28 as an eternal standard.

The triple-O body, a size smaller than a dreadnought, settles against your body comfortably the moment you put your arm around it.

This guitar predates the major renewal of the Standard Series, and one of its attractions is that it retains the classic feel and sound that have been familiar as "the 000-28" for decades.

While the new spec from 2025 onward adopts "GE (Golden Era) spruce bracing" with a vintage-like, full-bodied resonance, the 2024 model keeps the "standard scalloped X-bracing," with its tight, cohesive, refined tone, and delivers the classic, long-loved Martin sound.

The new spec's bridge has evolved into a "modern belly bridge" intended to improve sustain, but the 2024 model uses the traditional "standard belly bridge," so you directly experience an honest response with no added coloring and the crisp voice unique to a triple-O.

The new spec has a "rolled edge" on the fingerboard, but the 2024 model retains the traditional edge line, giving a natural grip for players used to the conventional feel.

In design, the new spec changed to a "long diamond neck transition (volute)," while the 2024 model has a compact volute.

The 24.9-inch short scale makes string tension wonderfully supple, for outstanding playability with fingers gliding over the fingerboard.

The sound of the classic combination of solid Sitka spruce top and solid Indian rosewood back and sides spreads out in layers of pleasing, lustrous overtones.

It answers the delicate touch of fingerstyle with crystal-clear individual notes, and when you strum chords with a pick, a rich, cohesive resonance fills the room, far beyond what the compact body suggests.

This tone, with delicacy and power living together, is versatile enough to turn any emotion of the player into sound.
