AudioScape's Opto Comp is a faithful recreation of the classic LA-2A: an all-tube optical compressor/leveler built around a T4B-style opto cell, with the same simple two-knob operation — Gain and Peak Reduction — plus a Limit/Compress switch, an HF sidechain emphasis control (the "R37" mod, built in), and a backlit VU meter switchable between Gain Reduction, Output +4, and Output +10. Smooth, program-dependent compression that's famous on vocals and bass. This is the real tube circuit, not a solid-state approximation. AudioScape sells these in small batches and they're frequently out of stock, so used ones move fast. Serial 125149 (Hammond power transformer dated 10/2021). Unit only — no box. Very good condition overall: the faceplate is very clean, but the top cover has light scratches, including one longer scratch line — see the top-down photo.
