Absolutely excellent and completely restored Gerard changer. These are rare in this clean of condition with all of the internals completely gone over cleaned and adjusted with lots of custom things added to it. For instance, the original idler was a bit thin and a bit hardened, so I searched my collection of hundreds of new old and classic idler Wheels, and found a Whopper that actually reduced wow and flutter about 200% compared to the originals when they were new! Not to mention all the torque needed to flawlessly operate the record changer portion. Additionally, the plant has been restored to better than original condition as it looked a little bit tattered when I got it and the imitation Walnut vinyl veneer that was on there was just wretched so rather than try and work with it I peel it off and put some actual real Walnut on there! Now you got a piece of real Walnut on the front to class it up a little bit more. The bearings have also been redone and all of the mechanics, the RCA's are made from low oxygen copper cables with switchcraft ends on both the turntable side and the side that plugs into your preamp. Last but not least, the cartridge is a vintage and probably one of the ones offered with this turntable new in the early to mid 70s, a original sure m93a I believe, with a nude elliptical sure brand stylus, that has extra suspension on it to allow for the record change it, as well as tracking weights of anywhere from 3 to 7G if needed. But the most important thing is the sound! And it absolutely rocks! It's definitely one that you can crank up and the isolation on the suspension is awesome as well as the intuitively and unique made head shell mounts for the turntable which actually allow you to crank this one up to about twice maybe three times the volume with Bass of any modern turntable. Go figure! And check out the video below. It'll show you how this thing rocks even though it was just the first time I plugged it in and I didn't have a ground wire hooked up because it was going into my d a w.
