Louis Noebe Violin (1881)
Violin by Louis Noebe, Bad Homburg, 1881 — System Noebe No. 133
A rare and documented violin by Louis Noebe (1839–1931), the celebrated German maker praised by Sarasate, Leopold Auer, and Wilhelmj — who called Noebe the "Messiah of violin makers." Noebe was recently the subject of a major feature in The Strad (April 2026) — and this exact instrument is pictured in that article.
Built to Noebe's patented System Noebe construction, featuring his signature dual bass-bar arrangement designed for projection and tonal stability. Original label and interior brand both present and legible. Completely set up by a professional luthier and ready to play.
Specs:
- Back: 355mm
- Upper bouts: 167mm
- Middle bouts: 113mm
- Lower bouts: 206mm
